Welcome to the

Chronicles of
a wandering vet

About

I am a veterinary surgeon who lost her heart to the stray dogs and cats of this world. Together with my dedicated friends and colleagues, I try to make a change to the lives of those poor souls living in uncertainty every day..

We support and organize neutering & vaccination campaigns, provide emergency care, support shelters/vets in developing countries and try to educate people about topics like population control & preventative medicine.

The mission

We want to enable community owned dogs to live a happy, healthy and safe life, cared for by humans that understand the importance of population control, vaccinations, parasite treatment, and medical care. By providing free neutering surgeries for feral animals and pets of poor communities, we try to establish a healthy adult dog/cat population that can coexist with humans without conflict. We provide rabies vaccinations to reduce the spread of this still deadly and widespread disease. If possible, we try to find forever homes for individual animals we encounter during our projects.

We dream of a world where no more puppies and kittens are born into a life of daily struggle and suffering...

How it all began..

I was fascinated by the rabies virus since I was a kid, just as much as I knew I wanted to be a vet. The fight against rabies and canine/feline population control go hand in hand and during my travels I befriended countless lovely dogs and cats on the street, that met this needle-wielding stranger with affection, loyalty and trust.. Random dogs on the street protected me in scary situations, comforted me in sad moments, turned into adventure buddies while exploring the wilderness, cheered me up endlessly and just became a part of my life wherever I go..

They never chose this life, they can not speak up for themselves, they can not break the breeding cycle, they can not ask for medical help..

So now we're doing it for them!

Rehoming success!

Sweet Minnie finally found a home!

Still looking for a home

Our three musketeers are still looking for a loving home, in the DR, or anywhere else on planet earth. Vaccinated, socialized, well behaved, neutered, loving and playful!

Successful clinic days

88 dogs neutered in 2 days + another 90 in one day, thanks to the amazing Dr. Giselle from Santiago, DR, and her team!
